Detoxifying The Body – The Process
Detoxification is cleaning the blood system in your body. The process cleanses any impurities that might be present in the blood. The body gets rid of toxins via lungs, kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph, and skin. At times, these systems might malfunction. This is when toxins are not cleansed in a proper manner, which can have an adverse effect on the body cells.
A thorough detoxification program clears the impurities of the body by:
- Relaxing the various organs of the body through the process of fasting;
- Motivating the liver to throw out toxins out of the body;
- Enhancing toxin elimination via intestines, kidneys, and skin;
- Improving the circulation of blood throughout the body;
- Feeding the body with nutritious food.
Is Cleansing Necessary For Your Body?
A thorough detoxification program is required at least once a year. You must go through a short detoxification program instead of a longer one. A detox program is usually safe. But certain categories must take extra precaution, like nursing mothers; children; and patients with chronic degenerative diseases, cancer, or tuberculosis. In case of any doubts or discomfort, you must consult your family physician.
An annual cleansing is necessary for all of us, especially in this era of extreme pollution. Your body gives ample signals to let you know when you need to detoxify. You might experience unnecessary tiredness, skin irritation, infections, bags under the eyes, irritable stomach, and menstrual problems.
The first and foremost step is to get rid of the toxins in your body. For this, you need to get rid of alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars, and saturated fats from your diet. You also need to reduce the use of cleansers, shampoos, deodorants, and toothpastes having excess chemicals. You can use alternatives that are naturally derived. One major thing, which you must avoid, is stress. Stress is a killer in the real sense. It injects harmful hormones in your body, which slows the process of detoxification in the liver.
There are numerous cleansing programs. You must choose the one that suits you best. For example, there is a seven-day detoxification schedule which most people follow. It gives the body time to clear the blood. This program consists of fasting and surviving only on a liquid diet for the first two days and staying on a pre-planned diet for the rest of the five days of the schedule. The idea is to give some relief to the digestive system.
Another detoxification program involves staying on a diet of water and juices extracted from fresh fruit and vegetables for three to seven days. You can also follow a program of staying on a diet of cleansing supplement packages, which usually include fiber, vitamins, herbs, and minerals.
Once you undergo the detoxification program, you can cleanse your system regularly with the aid of healthy diet and lifestyle practices. You need to include ample amounts of fiber like brown rice, beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed in your diet. Herbs like dandelion root and green tea are good for the liver. You must drink lots of water to purify the body. Breathing deeply allows more oxygen to circulate in the body and makes you feel healthy. Try to avoid excess stress. You can do so by being positive and optimistic always. Exercising makes you sweat, which in turn helps you eliminate wastes through perspiration. Yoga and meditation are also very good for health. It relaxes the mind and soothes the nerves.
